Vintage Fender Stratocaster Project Guitar

Vintage Fender guitars are sold every day on eBay,  but this week our high lighted sale of a vintage guitar isn't a complete unit, but a project guitar.  This Fender Stratocaster "project guitar" is a 1967 era guitar.  The neck is a November 1967 Maple Cap neck with the big headstock and transistion logo.  Knowledgeable Fender experts say this is one of the first maple cap Stratocasters ever made.  Sold in this auction was the neck, the tuners, the neckplate,  the body, and the tremelo.  The body had been stripped to a natural condition, from it's original sunburst design.  The large numbers present indicate that the unit was factory refurbished at some point . The neck was original finish, and frets that showed significant wear.  In the tradition of these wonderful guitars this "project" guitar sold for $8,200 on April 8, 2011, and 25 eBay bidders took a shot at owning guitar history, albeit, a project that the new owner will enjoy for days and years to come.

Vintage Fender Guitar 1965 Stratocaster

This past week in reviewing vintage guitars for sale, the sale of a vintage Fender Stratocaster caught our attention.  On February 27, 2011 a vintage 1965 Fender described as in "incredible" condition sold on at eBay auction for $19,450. This vintage Fender F series model was made in 1965 and carried serial number 107570.  This guitar was in pristine condition and had been purchased some 40 years ago by an aspiring guitar player who ultimately ended up playing bass and didn't ever really give this vintage masterpiece a workout as he had dreamed. Vintage Fender 1969 Rosewood Telecaster Guitar

Our highlight this week is another example of the great auctions on eBay in the vintage guitar category. This weeks highlight is an auction for a 1969 Fender Rosewood Telecaster. This original condition rare guitar featured a natural finish on the rosewood body, rosewood neck, and fret board with dot inlays. This Telecaster reflected only light playing wear and came with the original black Tolex hard case. This nice light 7.5 pound Tele is just like the rosewood Tele George Harrison played. 1959 Vintage Fender Guitar Auction Highlight of The Week

The vintage guitar auctions on ebay continue to produce auctions of vintage guitars that are in high demand by collectors.  This past week a 1959 Fender Stratocaster was pursued by 15 bidders and ended on Sept 1, 2009 with a sale price of $15,101.  This guitar was an original 1959 (pre CBS) Fender Stratocaster with a sunburst body with a Brazilian rosewood neck.  The body was marked 11/9 and the Serial number was 43035.  The guitars was reported to be 100% original except for four tuning keys which were 1964 vintage.

The highest dollar value vintage guitar auction on eBay this week was the sale of a vintage Fender guitar.  The 1959 Sunburst original sold for $12,667 on July 20, 2009.  This vintage Fender guitar listing cause a lot of interest with over 40 bids being cast.  The owner who had owned the guitar for half of it's life since manufacture, reported that two of the tuners where not original but were vintage tuners. The eBay auctions are an excellent source for vintage Fender guitars.

1958 Fender Stratocaster All Original

This week's highlighted sale of a vintage guitar on eBay auctions, is a 1958 Fender Stratocaster.  This 40 year old guitar was 100% original and was judged to be a 9.5 on a 10 point scale.  The investment grade guitar was acquired from the original owner had been in a closet for 40 years which accounted for it's rarely found condition.  The guitar sold for $29,500 on June 12, 2009.  There were many vintage guitars sold this past week on eBay, and this one topped the chart as the highest dollar sale.

This weeks highlight sale on eBay is another Fender Stratocaster.  This time a 1966  Stratocaster in near mint condition, with the original hard shell case takes the honors with the highest auction sale price for a vintage guitar.  This beauty in exceptional clean condition and all original sold for $ 10,200 on May 7, 2009.  Owner reported a couple of "pick scuffs" which can be expected on a guitar that has seen some real playing and not tucked away in a closet somewhere.

Our highlight is another Fender Stratocaser.  This week a 1967 Stratocaster in completely original condition sold for $5,551.51 on an eBay auction April 28, 2009.  The owner reported the guitar was completely original in every detail, and came with the original Black case.

1964 Fender Stratocaster Highlighted Sale of The Week

This weeks sale we are highlighting is the auction with the highest sale ending price for the week ended April 5, 2009. The 1964 Stratocaster was a one owner guitar sold with the original bill of sale dated August 24, 1965. The finish was a three tone sunburst with the original hardshell case and tremolo arm. The seller reported several malfunctioning pickups but since this is a completely original vintage guitar elected to leave the corrective action if any, for the new owner.
