Sales of Gibson electric guitars are frequent highlights here, where we highlight the highest dollar auction for the past week in the vintage guitar category on eBay. This week a 1959 Gibson es335 in original condition sold on eBay for $24,000 on May 23, 2009. This second year (1959) es335 had been stored away for almost 45 years and had been played on rare occasions. There were 1,435 Gibson es335 guitars shipped in the period 1958 - 1960 and many of these are now in the hands of collectors and players.
